Home Theater Chair
At the planning stage of your home movie theatre, you should give some thought to your home theater chair. Are
you setting the home movie theatre up primarily for yourself or are you married with or without children? Will you
invite friends and family often? Is space limited? The answers to these questions will affect your home theater
chair or home theater chairs.
Home Theater Chair
There are two types of room that you can set your home movie theatre up in: your living room or a spare room,
like an attic, a basement or a spare bedroom. If you choose the living room, then you probably already have
comfortable chairs to allow you and your friends and family to watch movies. If you live alone, you may want to get
a reclining home movie chair and one for your partner if you are married. A few bean bags should suffice for any
children or your living room may become rather cluttered.
However, I am going to assume that you live alone for the purpose of this article and that you have a spare
room. I think that it is a good idea to get a few sheets of graph paper at the earliest stage of planning your home
movie theatre, so that you have a clear idea of where everything will go. You need to do this in order to get the
right size screen for the room anyway.
If the room is on the small side, consider putting the screen in a corner. That allows you to put your home
theater chair a decent distance from the screen, which means that you can have a bigger screen. The optimal
distance from the screen to the home theater chair is three to five times the diagonal measurement of the screen.
The other considerations are do you like to watch films in your home theater chair, while dominated by the screen
and how is your eyesight?
My favourite choice of home theater chair is a fully reclining leather chair with a small incidental glass side
table for my drinks, snacks and remote controls. A couch or sofa could double as a comfortable home theater chair
for a while, but I would have to save up for the real thing. And some of these reclining chairs have lots of
features too. You could get a fully reclining othopaedic home theater chair. One with a back massager built in!
Imagine that after a hard day at work or in the garden.
There are lots of choices of home theater chair from the really expensive to the down right cheap. I could be
happy on three or four large bean cushions looking up to the home theater screen just under the ceiling in a corner
of the room. The other thing is, you don't have to get everything at once, just buy a bit at a time, but save up
and get the best home theater chair sometime.
